In-App
1. Principle
The Webout player functions as a custom widget that can be embedded into a website or application. For websites, the integration is based on a custom HTML tag. For applications, it uses a WebView component. A detailed integration guide is available HERE.
2. Data Flow Analysis
- User data is retrieved from the client’s API and inserted into the video on the viewer’s device.
- Video files and metadata (such as personalization positions, interactive elements, etc.) are stored in AWS S3 Storage. These video files are also served through the AWS Cloudflare CDN service.
- Anonymous licenses are generated to track the actual number of rendered videos through the Webout application server.
- Analytics data is collected anonymously to provide visualized playback statistics.

4. Security
Thanks to the principle of inserting customer information into the video directly on the viewer’s device, no sensitive data is stored on Webout’s servers. Webout also does not store the generated video files, as the videos are not created in advance but are generated at the moment of playback on the user’s device. If the user wishes to have their video file available (e.g., for sharing on social media), the video is again generated on the viewer’s device and then made available to them for further distribution.
